Welcome to MonteVista Community
Monte Vista is a housing project on the site of the historic Del Monte Cannery No. 3, which operated for 82 years. KB Homes built 383 residences – 238 condominiums and 135 townhouses – on 12.8 acres near downtown.
The triangular site is bounded by Auzerais Avenue, Sunol Street and Los Gatos Creek. One of the largest in the valley, the cannery opened in 1917 and closed in December 1999. During that time, fresh fruit and vegetables were loaded onto conveyor belts and processed into billions upon billions of cans and jars shipped around the country.
Note: This is not an apartment complex, so there are no front desks, and no on-call person to fix personal, in-unit issues that do not affect other units.

Our Community borders the Los Gatos Creek and the Los Gatos Creek trail which gives our residents access to a wide variety of trails throughout San Jose.
We are also located a half-mile from Light Rail and the Diridon Train Station which has Caltrain and Amtrak connections up and down the Coast of California.
We are also three-quarters of a mile from Downtown San Jose with convenient access to SAP Center, Center For Performing Arts, and the San Pedro Square restaurant area.
Community
Our over 550 residents enjoy convenient access to downtown San Jose. We have an active Homeowners Association and several lawn areas, shaded areas for relaxing and visiting.
